Exodus was great. There are a lot of great metal bands. If you want to listen to a great station online that has some great metal listen to Braingell.
http://www.braingell.com those guys have all kinds of old tunes going all the time. You can pretty much request a tune and they have it, even Helloween and Accept etc.
