Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What will I need to use BHI Mailer? Can I run it on Win XP?
The BHI Mailer software itself requires the Windows operating system (95/98/ME/XP) and a steady internet connection (56K or better). The mailer was built around the Millenium Edition operating system, however works perfect on XP systems. The mailer does NOT come with a hosted spamming method, you must supply hosting that supports PHP, or use another method such as formmail/cgi mailing.
Q: What type of hosting will I need?
Any hosting that supports PHP scripts will work fine. I would recommend a dedicated box running Apache software.. there are generally around $100/month and require an additional $75 setup fee. Check out Servercove.com for more information. Please check that your host is comfortable with bulkmailing, and make sure to secure a large amount of bandwidth. Free hosts such as GeoCities do not support PHP and are useless for use with BHI. An alternative would be to setup your own machine on a dedicated line.
Q: Will this method/mailer ever "die"
The simple answer is no. What makes this mailer unique is the customizable methods -- you can update the method yourself at any time, or even rotate methods each mailing session. The method itself will most likely belong to you, since most BHI customers choose to host the PHP mailing scripts themselves, and will only die if you choose to stop hosting it.
I will most likely not offer support to users of this software.
