In Islam, it is a sin to interpret the Qu'ran. Any Muslim who tries to interpret the Qu'ran commits a major crime and can be sentenced to death. A "Muslim" who follows an altered Qu'ran is no longer Muslim and can be killed by actual Muslims, under their laws.
