All $200 guitars are pure crap from my experience.
Don't spend less than $300 bucks on a guitar. Get one that is set-neck construction and string thru body bridge. Schecter, ESP, Ibanez, Dean, all make nice beginner guitars in the $300-400 range. Get something that looks cool!
I would recommend this ibanez

It's OK to get a cheap amp to start with, cuz almost anything can sound good at bedroom volume. More expensive amps are for playing in bands and stuff (worry about that later). An excellent begginer amp is something simple like this $100 crate http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/...se_pid/487782/ If you've got a little more money buy a $200 line6 http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/...se_pid/482255/
The crate is a basic amp with distortion channel, clean channel and reverb. Perfect for a bedroom beginner. THe line6 has a bit more power and effects like delay and phaser etc. The line6 will be more fun to experiment with but both are cool to start out
If you don't have the cash for a good guitar yet...save a bit and be serious - good luck and have fun

Thanks, like I said I'm prob looking for something in the 500-600$ range to start off so the guitar/amp combo you've listed falls in there nicely.
Now it's a matter of seeing what music stores out here actually have available
