The true LCDs are a helluva lot sharper, brighter, truer colors, basically they kick ass over the projection versions. But you pay about as much for a 26" true LCD as you do for like a 50" projection LCD.
If you're going to get a projection TV the best right now are the DLPs. Really I don't think the technology's where it needs to be on any of these yet. Especially for the price.
