A study released in May by market research firm Vividence ranked MSN Search last among the five major search engines in customer satisfaction and brand image.
another element of the Vividence study showed the sheer strength of the Google brand, underscoring the challenge Microsoft will face even if it develops better technology.
The firm said its research showed that the results generated by the top five search engines "did not differ substantially" from one search engine to another. Even so, the study found, Google users reported "a higher perceived rate of success," thanks in large part to the strong reputation enjoyed by the reigning search king.
