First of all, do you honestly believe that every person that voted for Bush, in all those states, in all those counties, is a redneck? I mean *really*? First I thought it was just poor use of hyperbole, but now I'm beginning to wonder. I mean if you honestly think that, I don't know how you manage to figure out how to flush the toilet after taking a dump. Ever forget to open the door before you try to walk through it?
Second reason I find it funny is that it epitomizes the self-destruct mentality that Democrats have taken on lately. The mentality that is causing them to lose popularity and elections nationwide. Here you have all these red states, all these people, all these voters that you need to "convert" (in a manner of speaking) in order to win. You have to bring them (or at least some of them over to your side). Simple as that. If things stay the way they are, you will continue to slide deeper into irrelevance. So, what do you do? How do you bring them over to your side? Reach out to them? Compromise? Talk it over? No, you call them rednecks and hillbillies, impugn their faith, mock their beliefs, and let it be known that you think they are all idiots and morons. Now that is one hell of a strategy. I'm sure they will be flocking to your camp in droves. I can just see the Democratic candidate in '08 making a speech on the campaign trail: "Now listen all you bible-thumping idiots, I'm only gonna say this once---very slowly because I know you're all ignorant inbred morons---you're voting for me in 2008!" Despite this flawed logic, I'm sure that I'll see people who support Bush labeled rednecks et al. at least once in every political thread from now on. As that asshole Dr. Phil would say, "You just don't *get* it, do you?"

If I offended you I am sorry. Your right, I should not put down rednecks and bible thumping idiots by calling them Republicans, I am sure they do not appreciate that.
Thanks for setting me straight on GFY!
