I consider myself an intelligent guy. IQ 139 and I voted using a butterfly ballot in Texas and it at first glance confused me.

That was when I stopped and took my time and made sure I lined everything up.
There was no reason to set the ballot up the way they did other than to trick people.

Anyway, I specifically prepared my sister and niece this election for such a ballot until I found we were getting the electronic machines.

I know for a fact that my sister and my 18 year old niece *first time voting* would have been easily confused by such a ballot...and maybe not even realising they were confused.

Anyway...I don't know what all this holds for us...the future is not very bright for this country if this is the way things are going to be during every election..it's going to get uglier and uglier.
I don't think it was a good design, but they aren't THAT difficult to figure out. If one cannot take a minute to study the ballot, follow directions and look it over to make sure it is marked they way they want it marked doesn't deserve to have their vote counted. I don't want idiots and those too hurried to make sure their ballot are accurate to decide the next leader of the free world.
