1. The ballots aren't that confusing. If you take a minute to study it and follow directions, there's nothing confusing about it at all. I can see being confused if you try to hurry up and rush through it, but anyone who doesn't take the time to follow directions and make sure their intention is clear in what is THE most important thing they can do that year, then their vote shouldn't be counted.

Go rent the documentary Unprecidented.
There is video footage showing how the elderly voters where they had the butterfly ballots were being rushed in a hurried by the polling workers. Literally being yelled at for taking longer than a minute or two to read all of the instructions and fill out their ballot books.
Very intersteing documentary, it goes far beyond anything seen on the news about the subject and have some very interesting demos on how easy it is to rig the electronic machines with a built in code that forces the vote count to go in your favor.
