The "330" HP rating for the Corvette, and the "305" for the camaro, was supposed to be flywheel HP, not rear wheel HP. So these engines tend to produce 15-18% or so more power then they were factory rated at.
I've owned both cars each for a period of more than one year. I modified my Camaro myself and am pretty familiar with the LS1. I have personal, first hand experience. The Vette, is hands down faster.

The Corvette and Camaro both use the LS1, but the Corvette LS1 is slightly better tuned. It does put out more power.

The additional 20 horsepower the Camaro SS was supposed to have was difficult or impossible to measure on a dyno because it relied on the ram air system. Since the car is not moving on a Dyno, no air is being rammed. Some people tried to counter this with fans, but with little success.
Neither are measured as flywheel horsepower. They're both measurements of "Gross Horsepower" which is slightly different.
