5 times a week is overkill.
Do quality workouts 3 times a week for separate body parts (upper body / lower body)
Red meat is good (beef, lamb)
Also chicken breasts, tuna fish.
Its better to boild egs.
And yes, eat a lot of carbs: pasta, potatos, rice etc.
