start > run > type msconfig

System Config Utility will open

click startup tab on far right in the top row

click disable all

apply

close

reboot



.. if problem is gone, go back in there and re-add items in small groups (3-5 at a time) until problem returns .. then turn those back off one at a time to figure out which one is causing the error and leave it disabled.
