He was a great fighter in a time of weak competition, but when he stepped up to other elite fighters he lost. Every time. Whatever excuses you want to give, he lost, and he certainly wasn't that far past his physical prime the first time he fought Holyfield and got an asswhipping. He was still in his physical prime when he got KTFO by Douglas.

Tyson's style was dramatic and that made him look extra extra good when he won, but that doesn't mean it's all powerful.
