a few years ago, I took a mother board back 2 Fry's (didn't work) I was standing in line with 10 or so other people, all returning mother boards.
the two guys in front of me, had three mother boards two had the box and one didn't.
The clerk told the guys he needed the box also, or they couldn't return the board.
One guy said that's why we got a better deal on one, because it didn't have a box.
The clerk said....... but I need the box or i can't put it back on the shelf.
When i lived in the Bay Area, I would go thru 4 or 5 hard drives before i got a good one.
But they are the cheapest, after years of buying at Fry's I just stopped, wasn't worth it.
