As humans living in society, we have collectively agreed to an code of honour and justice that we know is an artificial concept but that most agree is what we and others need in order to lead a better quality of life.

The thing is, who decides what is fair or not? It is an arbitrary decision made by a judge or a Government often in error and not as clearcut as many think.
Should the guy who robs and kills someone to keep his family alive be viewed in the same light as a drunk driver that kills someone? They often are.
Who determines that it was "worth it" to kill x number of Iraqis to give the country a better life?
These decisions are made by the "strongest" authority of the moment. If not they wouldn't be carried out.
