Yes gays and lesbians should be allowed in their respective gender locker rooms.
Why shouldn't men and women share a locker room? Because at least 70-80% (maybe higher, I don't have the full stats) of all the rapes taken place in the United states are man on woman. Having men and women share a locker room might highly increase the chance of rape. Also I've noticed that some men don't seem to think its inappropriate to comment on a woman's figure, whether good or bad. Yet they take immediate offense to a woman doing the same thing if its a bad comment.
Gays and lesbians are VERY much less likely to make a sexual inuendo or advance in a locker room. From what I have observed and from asking my gay friends, unless they know you are gay or a lesbian, they really have no interest. Eye candy is nice but if you're not interested its not important.
