Are you addicted to the internet?
There are some academics (and spouses) taking Internet Addiction as a serious topic. Do you?
Richard Davis, in an article titled "Is Internet Addiction Real?" lists the following symptoms:
1. Neglecting friends, family, and job or personal responsibilities,
2. Withdrawal when away from the Internet
3. Irritability when attempting to stop using the Internet
4. Staying online more than originally intended
5. Lying or concealing how much time one spends online
6. Drastic lifestyle changes in order to spend more time online
7. General decrease in physical activity
8. Disregard for one's health as a result of internet activity
9. Sleep deprivation or a change in sleep patterns in order to spend time on the net
10. Thinking about the Internet while offline
11. Anticipating future time online
12. Spending large of amounts of money on Internet time and other such expenses
13. Isolating oneself from friends, in favor of friends online
14. A sense of guilt about one's online use
