Hmmm....how can they be so sure? Is it also possible that more people go to the gym and bulk up. Muscles weigh more than fat and chicks who used to weigh 105 are bulking up to 125 through kick boxing and high protien diets.
Are taller people flying these days...they generally weigh more than average because of their height. Six-foot-six at 200lbs is still a skinny MoFo.

I'm 6'1" and once I lean out I'll weigh about 190, and I am certainly not a skinny MoFo; I'm a fairly muscular MoFo.
