Jesus doesn't expect people to be exactly like he was. Jesus doesn't expect me to be able to raise the dead, either. If you want to make some sort of point, at least make a good one. Christ taught people how to interact with one another, not how to wallow in poverty. His own life followed that line because he was who he was. The reason the earth needed Christ (assuming you believe in the Biblical story) is because people did NOT act the way he did. Since we are incapable of it, he was sent.
You may as well ask if Jesus drove a gas-guzzling SUV because the comparison is just as valid.
