i'm kind of bored, so i thought i'd post images from the last hike/scramble i did this summer (right before breaking my ankle)...
my brother and i worked our way to the top of Cascade mountain (in Banff) on August 10th. we fucked up on the hike about an hour in, wasting about 2 hours before back-tracking to the main trail. about 90 minutes in (not including our initial fuck up) here's the river you have to cross (using the log):
about 3.5 hours into the hike (after what seems like endless steep switchbacks) you get to Cascade's natural ampitheatre. this place is so totally isolated - the pictures don't do it justice. it's like traveling to a different planet:
this is about 5 or so hours in (no longer sure at this point). note my then healthy right foot hehe:
some very scary, balls to the walls exposed shit right along the ridge:
image of my brother ahead of me, making our way through a huge rock field. i love this picture:
i'm looking forward to getting better and being able to get back into it next year. does anyone here like to hike/scramble?
