Well, those things you mentioned have very little to do with being an american imho.
I can go to my local store at 4am and get creamfilled twinkies, I could sale content, and I could go to webmaster meetings in a fancy custom suit. Yet, none of those things have anything to do with nationality.
National pride in the US is sickening, the flag is plastered in every damn corner. Enough is enough. The reason most europeans on GFY (and elsewhere) *hate* the americans is the overwhelming arrogance as you perceive yourselves to be the best.
