Sorry for another digital camera thread but the other ones didnt help very much..

I am not a content shooter or a professional photographer..

I want something that will shoot nice pics at home, outside, at night, etc... I also want it to be compact and easy to carry around. It would be nice to have a good optical zoom on it. It's gotta have a screen on the back (i guess almost all do). Shouldnt eat batteries too fast..

I dont think i wanna spend more than $500-550 on it unless i really belive its worth that much..

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated
