There is probably nothing wrong with your ear besides a virus.
I had it last month after a mild flu bug and went to the doctor thinking that I had an ear infection. Wrong.. Doc said "nope".
Anyway, my ear had a severely plugged feeling for over 3 weeks and I could not hear very well .
My doctor advised taking sudafed and not worry about the ear unless it is plugged close to 12 weeks..
It was the weirdest bug that I have ever had and I could see someone asking around.. Alot of people around my area came down with it.. Lots of complaining about ONE EAR..
