"SNOW" I agree about the Government thing, however government even in a dictatorship still has to have the support of the population.

The russians at StalinGrad were incredible. The Red Army did their part, but one of the reasons they lost 8million was because Stalin killed all of his good generals before the war, inept leaders aside the were able to pull it out, didnt hurt that Hitler thought the was a military genius and ordered the siege of stalengrad. The German Generals thought that they should have just gone around, and of course they were right.

As for the aguement that somehow eastern europe was better off under Stalin, rather than Hitler - hard to tell both were pretty shitty humans.
