Yes Spain is cheap! Ok here some Spain promotion.
I live 35 Km south of Alicante which is in the south east of Spain.
I moved down in October last year but have lived close to Barcelone before where I worked as a sysadmin/developer
for private.com.
Well for now I have rental house so I can take my time to find
a really nice spot to buy in this area. I have a detached house
with front and back garden, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a nice
big swimming pool. The house is brand new I pay: 500 dollars per month for it.
Tax don't work in this country. You can negotiate about it like
with buying a second hand car. No control, no means of checking,
etc, etc. As long as you pay some everybody is happy.
Opening a bank account takes 10 minutes and a passport. You sign a paper that you're a foreigner which means you don't have
to pay tax in Spain and you walk out with a bank account.
No one has access to it so you can put in the account whatever
you like. No information will be given to anyone,
Buying a house can be done very easy for foreigners even with a mortgage. You can get 70% of the value of the house on paper.
This value is higher than the market price so buying is very easy.
It's very common to pay half the house with cash (from the morgage) and the other half on paper. The Notary will step out
the office for a minute so you can settle the deal and he doesn't know abou it.......don't you love this?
Okay I live 2 miles from the beach, a beer in a bar will cost you less then a dollar, a good 3 course diner in fancy restaurant for
2 persons 40 dollars. Within a 20 mile radious I have 14 excellent
golf courses, 3 of them are used in the eurpoean tour and the one closest to my house is voted best golf course in Spain.
Pot is still illegal here however can be bought everywhere. Since
we're very close to marroco no problems here. If you get caught
smoking you have to put out the joint and that's all. No arrest
or other bullshit.
Smartshops and growshops just became legal so within a year coffeeshops will be legal to. When it comes to porn. Private didn't move here without a reason. It's very liberal, same rules as we have in Holland, NO CP and that's it legal age for porn models is
18.
No rules for setting up a business, you don't need any papers to for example to open a bar, just a passport will do. We rented a bar and built our office in since that was cheaper to rent an
office and built a bar in :D
I have a ADLS connection in my house 512Kbit/sec cost me 50 dollars per month I have 2Mbit ADSL in my office which cost me
140 dollars per month. It can take 2 months before you'll finally get it but once in place it works really well, no downtime.
Since Spain is at least 5 year behind with internet the BIG boom
still needs to come. Not too many spannish people have internet
in their houses so even with the ADSL no congestion.
Okay that's about it. All you need is a bit patience, lots of stuff
takes ages, don't make appointments people will not show up
Shops when they open at 9.00 it means when we are awake.
They might open at 11.00 without notice so just go with the flow.
The upside with that is that the government works the same and you don't have to worry that they will come to take your money
because they know you earned a lot and they want tax from it.
They understand that Spains economy is based on tourism and
foreigners that want to live here. The foreigners buy spannish
stuff, eat in spannish restaurants, buy spannish houses so they
are quite happy with that.
You just have to learn the language coz spannish don't speak english......or at least most of them don't.
So be welcome pornographers we're already down here with quite a few so get your ass down here and enjoy!
The North is a bit better organised so don't go there. This is right
place environment and climate is very similar to California.

8000 square meter plot with private pool, 250 square meter build, 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, garage for 2 cars
fully equiped will cost you approx: 250.000 dollars
