I've been considering getting one for some time now too, and am finally going to make the move. Expensive? Yes, but so is a gym membership, and after your time runs out you have nothing, except the fitness you should have gained and another membership bill. 4 or 5 years at a gym is equal in price to the bowflex.

When considering a home gym gizmo, the bowflex is the all-round best of the best because you can do every excercise that you could do at a gym, not just 1 or 2 like with "ab rollers" and treadmills and ski machines. One movement as opposed to over 70? I'll pay the extra few hundred bucks and get the machine that offers enough resistance anytime. My max bench on free weights was 306 lbs for 2 reps, and at that time I did 350lbs on a machine for 6. If the guy on the bowflex commercial is on the level, then I would only be able to do about 250lbs on the bowflex at that time. The resistance is just harder to control and handle, but I'm betting the pump will be good.
