Think about it. In general terms, from what the bible lays out, Satan is about absolute freedom, while God is about blind devotion and misery for a brutal and insecure murderer. God even wishes you to endure an eternity of pain for not blindly believing and following his bizarre rules even in cases where you have not heard of him or seen any evidence of his existence beyond the unfounded ramblings of a group of people who hate you or not being exactly like them.

Or do I remember the bible incorrectly?

Not that I believe in it, it's just an interesting debate.
