The hollywood version would not look so heroic if that was what was depicted.

were you there.......do you really feel you are qualified to discuss the heroics of an Operation Restore hope Vet....
Much respect for you and Spike but to be perfectly candid.....unless you were on the ground I do not feel you are in any position to discuss the merit of service exhibited during Operation Restore hope.....
I felt pretty fucking heroic making sure I was putting rounds down range when I was being fired upon by muslim extremeists using the war torn region as a haven for terrorists.
When we drove out the Mohammad Farah Ahdid's war lords from Baidoha, and Bardera, leaving the people to eat again and have peace with stacks of dead bodies leaving a scar that would be present for the rest of their lives........

You have no idea the horror that was taking place in Somalia December 1992-October 1993
