Albeit, many American workers could have done something about outsourcing a long time ago. If the unions had taken a stand on the issue.
Factory workers were fine when low paying jobs were going oversease. It didn't effect them and their decent paying job. But companies soon realize, well if they could ship low paying jobs overseas and get products made cheaper, we can do the same for high paying jobs. And that's when you started seeing tech jobs and manufacturing jobs go oversease too.
Basically the factory workers and unions cut their own throat by allowing any form of outsourcing (or should we call it exploitation). If they had, perhaps they would be still working at their high paying tech job within the US rather than seeing it go to India. But that's what happens with shortsightedness.
