True, neither party really benefits the poor. But a Republican government does favor the wealthy more. Any party that prefers little to no regulation will be favorable to large companies that will do whatever it takes to squeeze as much money from customers as it can. It comes in many forms such as 1) charging much more for a service or good than the service or good is worth 2) moving production to 3rd world countries where production is cheaper and 3) use cost cutting measures whereever possible even if it means not adhering strictly to common sense safety and health codes
