I have 5 PCs and 3 Macs. Macs are much more expensive, but MUCH better machines (typing this on my PowerBook G4 actually).
If you want a kick ass machine
buy this one . But it ain't cheap. Base price is $2,999 and you'll definitely want to add more memory, a bigger hard drive (you'll want more than 160GB if you're doing video) and likely a few more bells and whistles. It's liquid cooled, dual processor... the IDEAL machine for video.
But if you don't have the money for that plus Final Cut Pro and a decent monitor, I'd say go down and have a PC custom built.
Mac is elite.
