Basically, what they do is caching frequently demanded content inside your data centre. Though that sounds promising, it isn't really that useful for a host as the data still has to go through the outgoing pipes.
It's more used by ISP's to cache frequently requested files for their local customers. That way, they can cut down the international traffic.
