I think it takes a great deal of skill to hurl over 3500 pounds of steel at high speeds thru turns. I'm not a huge NASCAR fan (I enjoy F1/CART more), but I don't buy into the idea these guys aren't talented.

Also, some NASCAR drivers (ie: Kyle Petty, John Andretti) compete in several other styles of racing, and are successful. So the idea that these are just a bunch of Redneck Moonshine runners with some fat sponsor deals is unfair.

One thing I enjoy about NASCAR racing is the passing. F1 used to have more passing, but over the years, it just boiled down to having the superior machine. The NASCAR guys will swap paint for better drafting/passing.
