Weirdest thing happened today.... guy from a long ago LD relationship was in town for the day on biz. Hadn't talked to him in like 4 years or more. Met way back in '94 on Compuserve chat.. moved to IRC in '95. Were pretty hot 'n heavy..well as far as LD can be. He finally found someone local to him (Edmonton) and she was insanely jealous of how close we were (even as friends).

Anywhooo... Only phone number he could find for me was the number I list for whois info which is a line I never answer.. doesn't even ring in my house. I rarely check the voicemail on it and in fact the message says so and to email me. A few days ago, I had to plug in my old fax machine and did so on that line. Sit down at my desk this afternoon and the fax starts ringing. I figured 'no one I wanna talk to'. But it got me thinking about that voicemail. So I decided to check it and clear it all out.

I'll be dang if there wasn't a message from this guy. I called him back.. he was down around where he thought my house should be trying to track me down. Had just about given up when I called him. I scooted out the door and met him.. got to chat for a couple of hours before he headed for the airport. Exchanged phone numbers and email addresses and claims he'll be in touch.

Now I'm sitting here wondering where if anywhere this might go... We used to tease back then about fate and kizmet. Makes you really wonder sometimes. Just strange how circumstances were just so. If the fax hadn't been plugged into that line I would have never known about the call.
