I guess they were embarassed by the about a dozen or so website I had posted into comments preparing to answer the question?

You can always find a reason to cancel an account - sometimes you have to find a reason to KEEP the account.

Anyways, I'll investigate when I get time ...

Did you ever consider the possibility that you were cancelled because YOU violated their TOS? I doubt it has anything to do with them being embarrassed, but because Google received complaints that YOU violated their TOS. I also think Google is busy enough that they don't have time to play little people games and have ZERO tolerance for bullshit.
