Any APC Power Systems techies around??

Got a question on APC power systems.

My home APC's all started going to battery mode this afternoon. I figured because of the hurricanes down here and the fact so much work is being done on the power grid maybe the power was screwing up on the lines.

Couldn't get them to solid green at all. Looked back in the manual and saw a tech tip that said you can reprogram the system sensitivity if the Input Voltage Range is running high or low from 78 - 142 VAC's.

Default is 88 - 139 VAC's and high sensitivity is 88 - 136 VAC's.

I reprogrammed them to Low Sensitivity 78 - 142 VAC's. Now they all work fine, but in the manual it says this is not recommended for computer loads.

Could this let surges through? Or what do you think they mean when they say not recommended in terms of what could happen?
