When I was vacationing this summer we rented a house in Orlando for a week. At first, I was griping because I was going to have to use my cell phone dialup all week (about 40K conenction). On the second night though I noticed a very weak wi-fi connection.
I walked around the whole house with my laptop, and couldn't find it. Then I walked around the outside of the house and finally found that in the corner of the pool area I had an excellent wi-fi connection.
Turned out the idiot next door had a wide open wi-fi router, and for the next 7 days I worked out by the pool about an hour a day with a free 200K connection.
