Cheney never said this. It was from a December 2003 "Meet the Press" interview... the media has been playing it all day when Cheney said to Tim Russert...
"We will have struck a major blow right at the heart of the base, if you will, the geographic base of the terrorists who had us under assault now for many years, but most especially on 9/11"
Now, since they are trying to TRICK you, they didn't show what happened immediately after, knowing most people didn't listen to the entire statement, it is as follows:
Tim Russert: "So the resistance in Iraq is coming from those who were responsible for 9/11?"
Dick Cheney: "No, I was careful not to say that."
Since we're playing "Did he really say that?"

Actually it was from 2 years of him saying it over and over again, nothing to do with this meet the press interview you're talking about. You have to have a pretty fucking short memory to not remember Cheney saying that many times. I guess if Rush didn't talk about it today it's beyond some people.
