Lawmaking is not a skill, lawmaking is something that is (should be) given to people that have an exceptional level of moral values and good intentions, as well as no intentions of bending the power they receive to benefit a personal belief. They are representatives of a large number of voters in an area, and they should stick to the agenda that they were voted on. Too bad so many of them use a very broad agenda to get elected, then they vote against so many topics that they pretend to stand for. I think Bush made some good points about this to Kerry.

"Kerry voted for us to go to war, and Kerry saw the same intelligence that I saw, but now he is saying that its the wrong war at the right time."

-Five minutes later-

Kerry: "I am going to finish iraq, in every way that the president failed."

Its just a mess.
