I was wondering why people would live near a volcano until I looked up this map of Pacific Rim earthquakes (real-time updates) and I'm wondering why I live in California.

On CNN they were saying that the volcanic activity is linked to the earthquakes experienced down in California earlier in the week. How scary is that? The rest of the US map is looking pretty good - except for all those hurricanes, tornados, floods, etc. etc. etc..

I guess nowhere is completely safe. Best wishes & good luck to everyone in the Mt. St Helens area.
