I was about to say, I've only got a couple big spots left, then the rest are a bunch of little sponsorships. I'm expecting to be sold out soon. Of course I'll refer the over flow of interested sponsors over.
The hardest part about throwing a big webmaster event is raising the sponsors to pay for it. The rest isn't easy either, but selling someone into your ideas about an event is a tough sale. I always had an Ice-T mentality about raising sponsors. From the beginning, I had to create the vision to interested companies, but I never did them yet, so I had to convince them I could do it and it would kick ass. Ice-T never rapped before he got his record deal. He went to the label, said, "you either believe I got the goods or you don't. If I sold you a box of hand grenades, how do you know if they all work or not? Maybe I show you one that works, but how would you know if the rest are good? You've just got to believe in me that they're good". That's some pimp talk. In my situation, I've seen everything that could possibly happen with throwing an event for webmasters, so now I'm super confident I can pull it off, and sponsors know my track record which makes it easier.
I can tell by your last experience with that party, you're going to make sure you have things covered. Pay a security team of your own to watch their team and you'll have 95% of your problems solved.
