Hear Hear! Last night my husband had a brilliant idea. What Kerry needs to do is to start his opening statement like this:
"I'm here... wait a minute.. (turns to GW) Mr. President, why don't we throw out all these silly rules and just sit down and have a discussion here instead of all this craziness? I'm sure the people would appreciate us just talking about issues instead of reciting little soundbites we've constructed. What do you say, Mr. President?" and then sit back and wait.

There's nothing he can do. He'll sit there stonefaced like he did when he heard about the 9/11 attacks. He can't say, "Okay, let's just talk" because he doesn't perform well in that format and it's too easy for Kerry to attack him about real issues instead of things like being "flip-floppy". And he can't say "No, I need.. er. want to stick to the rules we set out ahead of time." because then he looks like a baby who can't stand up to Kerry and take him on man to man.

AND it would be so delicious for the political junkies like us out there who love the DRAMA!
