But if you're really going to do it, do it up right. Nice dress-up dinner, then a walk on the beach or somewhere suitably romantic, and pop the question when she leasts expects it. Call me cynical, but don't show her the ring until after you ask the question. You don't want her reaction to be 'yes I want that ring' instead of 'yes I want to marry you'.
