Yeah, they're not cute little fuzzballs, but that cuteness won't last long anyway, and the retirees and rescuees are the ones that really need some care. So many people are drawn to pets in their cute baby stage, but wouldn't consider caring for a homely adult.

Getting an adult also lessens your lifespan commitment - a new tiger might live 20 years, while a retired zoo tiger is probably within 5 years of its death. Makes for a sort of "test drive" while you see if you really like caring for tigers.
Not a bad idea something to think about.
I just like the idea of a cub so I can bond while its young kinda like a mother figure for it.
