No, we instictively dislike those who are different. It's a tribal instinct that goes back to our pre-Homo Sapien days. You want to preserve YOUR resources, YOUR land, YOUR women, YOUR genes. And for that, you need to kill the stranger, the outsider, the other tribe. We're now raised to tolerate those who are different, but it takes very little to see our instincts rise to the surface. Just look at 9/11. Suddenly everywhere we went we could hear slurs against an entire race -- and even witness violent acts against innocent people -- all because of what 20 or so individuals had done.
