here's some info on the two bills relating to the draft. Basically they were introduced by two democrates and, if passed, would require all americans age 18-26 ( men and women ) to preform 2 years of military service or similar service in homeland security or national defense. Both bills were introduced, got some co-sponsers and now sit in the appropriate commitee and are going nowhere. Many people think this was a ploy by the dems to scare young people into voting for Kerry. I guess the bottom line is that they were most likely a political tool but what if things get really shitty? we already have them in the works, no reason they can't move foward with them now.
