Epoch has learned that in the coming days, Visa will adopt a new policy regarding an online vendors ability to accept transactions for specific types of websites. This new policy seeks to target a specific market segment involved in selling questionable material, specifically material that promotes and/or attracts individuals possibly involved in the proliferation of child pornography.
The new Visa policy has not yet been officially released and all details are not currently known. However, Epoch has verified that the new policy will state that Visa will not allow credit card transactions to occur for any site that makes use of such words as pre-teen, lolita, or pedo, or any other verbiage that can be associated with actual or suggested child pornography. Sites which include the use of such words within their domain name will be affected immediately upon the date specified by Visa, and, sites which use such terminology to promote, market, or advertise their websites under any guise will be targeted as well. Sites found to be non-compliant will no longer be able to process transactions using the Visa network. This will be enforced by Payment Service Providers and Visa Acquirers.
Epoch has always enforced a policy of no tolerance for sites which include, among other things, the use of pornographic materials of underage models, or the use of pseudo-child porn where actors of legal age are portrayed as under age. Many adult webmasters also vigilantly oppose the use of materials as described above and have set up their own organizations such as "Adult Sites Against Child Pornography" found at

Visa's new policy is one which will be widely supported by many activist groups and adult webmasters as well. As a whole, the adult entertainment industry has done a decent job of policing itself against child pornography and it is expected that the new Visa policy will be well regarded, especially in the United States.
If you own or manage a website which will be affected by the new Visa policy, you must remove all occurrences of the before mentioned terminology from your website including meta-tags, promotional and descriptive material, domain names, marketing and advertising, and any other area which could cause your website to be found non-compliant. Additionally, you should contact Epoch as soon as possible to insure that your compliance with the new policy is noted as Epoch will discontinue processing for all such sites as directed by the new Visa policy.
