he came from BEHIND me, he WAS in the same lane as me, scooted up to the side of me, and just boxed me in between him and the sidewalk.

Right of way is the law, and don't go out the window. You press your break and go behind him - like you did at the "last second" - but instead your 16 year old mindset sunk in and all reason went out the window - not right of way.
