Humm.....
So now the state recognizes the porn actors as employees in spite of the fact that everytime they sign a release the declare themselves independent contractors??
If this is the case then that measn they should also be entitles to unemployment, workmens comp, and the other benefits that other "employees" are entitles to.

I have not heard about that change yet.....
this is a CYA move by the State of California.

Just like they have failed numerous times to enact any law mandating condom use, these fines will fail to stick.
The only thing that porn companies have more of then tapes and money is lawyers, and very god lawyers at that.
Not one production company that I know of has been notified of anything by the Division of Occupational Health and Safety.
We have not, and we have been registerd with the state since we opened for business.
