30.00 picked up a set of Miricle Blades. Honestly man these are better than any of the cold steel kitchen knives I have ever used while at home or working in restaraunts in high school.
The handle dsigns is good because you can cut all the way through the food as the blade is effectively lower than your knuckles because of the handle curve much like yours. But the handle comes out the back of yoru hand and has a knob on the end that is in line with the blade so it is steady as you slide through your roast or bread or whatever it is you are cutting. I have never had a knife that i could cut my nori with, without flattening but this cuts through the seaweed without ripping, right through the rice and any vegetables or meat I have in the middle without any kind of noticable pressure form my hand. I was blown away since this was a tv sold item and I did not expect it to work. Now it does not cut through frozen seafood like I thought but frozen beef and chicken it does very easily to my suprise. The parring knife is pretty good, the filet knife cuts just as well as the slivers and has a good flexibility to the blade. the steak knives are good but I am not using them as a utility knife also, that is just strange, not eating with something I cut drywall with (but I did use them to strip some thin wires last night)
Now the best thing is the chop and scoop which I use to cut vegetables with. It is a thin metal square with the same curved handle but it has a pivot ball at the top so you can grab it at the top there and apply force directly to your vegetables or fruit. There is a rock and chop you are supposed to use to bias slice and all that but I usually do not use it. This knife set has cut down on my prep time dramatically.
Honestly man check them out, best 30.00 I ever spent on something that was not crap and broke really easily. And the only time I have not had buyers remorse about something of this nature. Oh yeah came with a juicer 2 but never used it
